Moleskine 8

Weer een pagina klaar in mijn Moleskine. Ik heb eerst de ranken, blaadjes en bloemen getekend, en ingekleurd met aquarelkrijt. Toen bedacht ik, dat het misschien wel leuk zou zijn als ik er een acrylglaze overheen zou schilderen in zachtblauw. Goed idee, ware het niet dat natuurlijk de hele boel doorliep ! Oke, weer wat geleerd, dat gaat dus niet ;-) De tak rechtsbovenin heb ik erbij getekend toen de glaze droog was, en dat ging een stuk beter ! Enfin, hier is mijn 'lente-pagina'.

Finished another page in my Moleskine. First I drew the vines, leaves and flowers and colored them with my Neocolor II crayons. Then I thought it might be nice, to add an acrylic glaze on top in a soft blue. Great idea, only I smudged the entire drawing ! Oke, learned something, that doesn't work. The vine in the upper right corner I drew on top of the glaze, worked much better ! Anyway, here's my 'spring-page'.

Wat heb ik tot nu toe gedaan aan mijn langnek-meisje ?

What did I do sofar with my longneck-girl ?

Gesso op een MDF plaat, daarna bewerkt met alcoholinkt.

First I put Gesso on my fibreboard and started with a basecolor I did with alcoholinks.

Een papieren zakdoek in laagjes verdeeld en met medium erop gelijmd. De kleur schijnt er doorheen en je krijgt een prachtige textuur.

Glued on some very thin napkins, allowing the color to shine through and creating wonderful textures.

Grote stap vooruit ! Ik heb er nog wat zakdoekjes opgelijmd die ik eerst gestempeld heb met een tekststempel. Mijn meisje ingekleurd met Karisma potloden, uitgeknipt en erop geplakt. Ik heb een groot vel beschilderd in allerlei kleurtjes roze, wat oranje, wat rood, en goud en deze in 1x1 cm blokjes gesneden. Hiermee ga ik de grote bloem achter het meisje in mozaik maken. Het begin is gedaan, best wel veel werk !

Fast forward ! I glued on some more napkins on which I stamped with a textstamp. Colored my girl with Karisma pencils, cut her out and glued her onto the painting. Then I painted a big piece of paper in shades of pink, red, orange and some gold, and cut this up in 1x1 cm pieces. The big flower behind the girl will be a mosaic of these pieces of paper. A lot of work !

Er moet nog heel veel gebeuren, maar zo heb je al een idee hoe het schilderij ongeveer gaat worden ;-)

Still a long way to go, but this gives you an idea how this painting is going to look ;-)

Idee voor schilderij

Ik had ineens zo'n leuk idee, dus  aan het schetsen gegaan. Dit is het resultaat, ik wil hier heel graag een mixed media schilderij van gaan maken ;-) Wordt vervolgd !

Today I suddenly had a fun idea, so I started sketching. Below the result, and I really want to make a mixed media painting of this one ;-) To be continued !

Omslag van mijn Moleskine is klaar !

Ik heb me heerlijk uitgeleefd op de omslag van mijn Moleskine. Dit is het resultaat, ik word er gewoon vrolijk van ;-) De letters die ik gebruikt heb komen uit de digitale kit Let's Journal van Dawn Inskip.

I had so much fun decorating the cover of my Moleskine. This is the result and it really makes me so happy ;-) The Alpha I used comes from the digital kit Let's Journal by Dawn Inskip.

Twee nieuwe Moleskine pagina's

Mijn digitale Art Journal vlot niet erg, mijn Moleskine des te meer ! Op de een of andere manier associeer ik een Art Journal toch meer met verf en lijm dan met een PC. De kans is groot, dat mijn digitale album gaat stranden, maar goed ..... Enfin, twee nieuwe pagina's dus. Bij Suzi Blu, waar ik de Petite Doll workshop doe, is nu ook een 'workshop' Art Journaling van start gegaan. De eerste opdracht was een pagina te maken met die laat zien hoe geweldig en fantastisch je eigenlijk bent, dus, aardige dingen over jezelf ... Nou, dat valt op het moment niet mee. Ik bedoel, 10 kilo aangekomen, alles doet me zeer dus ik lijk wel een oud vrouwtje, stoppen met roken niet gelukt ..... En dan iets aardigs over mezelf zeggen ??? Oke, ik heb een poging gedaan, want ik ben natuurlijk niet door en door slecht ;-)

I am way behind with my digital Art Journal, but my Moleskine is coming along very well ! I think it is because Art Journaling to me, is more playing with paint and glue than with my PC. I don't think I will be finishing the digital Art Journal ..... Anyway, two new pages in my Moleskine. Suzi Blu offers this new Art Journaling class, and the first assignment was 'celebrate yourself'. Oke, now there isn't much to celebrate at the moment. I mean, I gained 10 kilos, my body hurts and I feel like a very old woman, couldn't quit smoking ..... And I have to say something nice about myself ??? But, I tried, I mean, I am not all bad ;-)

De tweede pagina zat al een poosje in mijn hoofd. Die begon met dat leuke plaatje van de poes op de linkerpagina, uit een tijdschrift. Ik heb er twee katten bij getekend, een lief gedichtje erbij wat ik op internet vond, en dit is het geworden.

The second page was in my head ever since I found the cute image of the cat on the left page in a magazine. I drew two more cats, added a sweet poem I found on the internet, and ended up with this journal page.

Nu ben ik de kaft aan het  pimpen, die wordt ook erg leuk, maar dat zien jullie volgende keer wel ;-)

Now I am pimping my cover, I think it will turn out great, but I'll show that next time ;-)

Mijn tweede Petite Doll

Vandaag hard gewerkt aan mijn tweede Suzi Blu schilderijtje. Hier het resultaat, ik ben er zelf heel tevreden mee ;-)

Art Journal - pagina 9

Een foto waar je rustig van wordt, dat is eigenlijk alles wat ik ervan kon maken .... Die foto heb ik afgelopen zaterdag gemaakt, in de Biesbosch. Maar zo'n foto kan ik eigenlijk overal in de natuur maken, want de natuur, daar kan ik erg van genieten. Een prachtig landschap, in het verre buitenland of gewoon zo'n typisch nederlands landschap, daar kan ik uren naar kijken en ja, dat kalmeert ook vind ik. Gewoon genieten, de wind/zon/regen voelen, en alle muizenissen uit je hoofd laten waaien ;-)

A photo that relaxes you, that's all I could understand with this challenge .... I made that photo  last saturday, in the Biesbosch. But I can make a relaxing photo anywhere in nature, because nature, and beautiful landscapes, is something I really love. Somewhere far away, or close by, a typical Dutch landscape, I can watch it for hours and yes, it relaxes me. Just enjoy, feel the wind/sun/rain, and all your worries disappear ;-)

Suzi Blu - werk in uitvoering ;-)

Mijn tweede Suzi Blu schilderij .... In eerste instantie vond ik de achtergrond veel te fel, nu, na gebruik van de cremekleurige verf, eigenlijk een beetje te flets. Nou ja, deze gaan bij Suzi in de beoordeling, eens kijken wat zij ervan zegt, en voorlopig laat ik deze dan even rusten. Dat helpt vaak ook wel, even afstand nemen ;-)

My second Suzi Blu painting .... At first I thought my background was way to bright, now, after using me vanilla paint, I think it is a bit to ... well ... vanilla LOL Anyway, these will go to critique for Suzi, let's wait and see what she has to say. Leave the painting for now can be a good idea too, a little distance always helps ;-)

Art Journal - pagina 8

Ik ben ook weer bezig met een Suzi Blu schilderij, en voor de beoordeling moest ik het geheel inscannen. Ik heb de scan maar gelijk gebruikt om weer eens een pagina voor de AJC te maken, want ik loop ernstig achter ;-) De vleugels heb ik digitaal toegevoegd, maar die vind ik zo leuk dat ik ze ook geprint heb en in mijn schilderij ga gebruiken !

Started a new Suzi Blu painting and I had to scan it for critique. Decided to use the scan to create a new AJC page, because I am waaaayyy behind with these ;-) I added the wings digitally, but I like them so much I printed them and will add them to my painting as well !

Moleskine - pagina 4

Na ons bezoek aan de film Avatar deze pagina gemaakt in mijn Art Journal. De foto heb ik met gel medium in mijn journal ge-transferred (hahaha, dat is vast geen woord, maar ik weet even niet hoe ik het anders moet zeggen). Daarna heb ik met kleurpotloden de kleur weer wat opgehaald. En nu lijkt het wel of ik het helemaal zelf getekend heb, maar dat is dus niet zo ;-) Ik heb er een dubbele pagina van gemaakt, ik vind het wel leuk als links en rechts bij elkaar passen ....

After visiting the Avatar movie I made this mage in my Art Journal. I transferred the photo into my journal with gel medium, and brought back the colour with my Karisma pencils. Now it looks like I made the drawing myself, but again, nope, I didn't ;-) Made a double page, I like it when left and right belong together ...
